Exclusive: GM Dolly – tackling heavy-duty jobs on the go is now easier than ever.

 

At the GM Recycling booth at MATEXPO this year, not only was impressive crushing and screening equipment on display, but also a completely new concept that immediately attracted a lot of attention: the GM Dolly, a solution that makes moving heavy crushers such as the GIPO models faster, easier, and much more efficient.

 

A response to growing demand

 

We were increasingly asked by customers in Belgium and the Netherlands how they could move their crushers more easily. For a long time, GM Recycling couldn’t offer its own solution for this. But as Managing Director Brecht Martens puts it: “I never want to have to say that we can’t offer something. We’ll just keep looking until we find the right solution.” Because GM is known for machines that are sturdy, heavy-duty, and built to last, their transport solutions must also meet that standard. That presented a challenge, but one that GM Recycling was eager to take on.

 

From problem to design: together at the drawing board

 

Two years ago, the search began for a partner capable of helping to realize this vision. They found that partner in De Buf, a Belgian specialist in heavy-duty rolling stock. Together, they worked on a solution that fully aligns with GM’s own philosophy: robust, reliable, versatile, and user-friendly. The result is the new GM Dolly, a five-axle, hydraulically suspended, and fully steered transport solution, specially developed for the fast and safe movement of large crushers.

 

What makes this Dolly unique is its ease of use: the Dolly always stays with the crusher, moving it no longer requires a flatbed trailer, and the operator can switch between different job sites much faster. The crusher is simply driven onto the Dolly, coupled at the front via an integrated kingpin, and is immediately ready for transport. “Arranging transport, waiting for schedules, depending on external companies… that’s a thing of the past. With this Dolly, you’re ready to go right away,” says Brecht.

 

Built for heavy-duty machinery and for the future

 

The GM Dolly is the first of its kind in the GM range, but certainly not the last. “We wanted something that fits our way of working: heavy-duty, robust, and built to last for years,” says Brecht. “This isn’t some lightweight, run-of-the-mill solution. This is a true workhorse that perfectly complements the GIPO crushers we supply.” With this Dolly, GM Recycling is responding to the growing demand for greater mobility on the job site, lower transport costs, and more flexibility for customers.
